The District Department of Environment, in partnership with Anacostia Riverkeeper and Groundwork Anacostia River DC, will be holding a press conference tomorrow to announce the installation of two new Bandalong Litter Traps in the Anacostia watershed.
This project was carried out through a grant from DDOE to the Riverkeeper and Groundwork Anacostia. It is designed to help implement DC’s obligations under the Trash Free Potomac By 2013 Treaty and the Anacostia Trash TMDL, the first inter-jurisdictional trash TMDL in the nation.
The event will take place along the banks of the newly restored Watts Branch in Ward 7, from 10:30am – 11:30am at Marvin Gaye Park, 61st NE & Banks PL NE (near Southern Ave NE). Event signs will be posted.
