Sunday, April 17th is the Anacostia River Festival, an official event for the National Cherry Blossom Festival with lots of fun events celebrating the history of the Anacostia. The event will occur at Anacostia Park from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. More details may be found here: http://www.bridgepark.org/anacostia-river-festival The event flyer is also provided below.
Saturday, April 23rd, we’ll be participating in an Earth Day clean up at Kenilworth Park. Approximately 150 volunteers have agreed to help us clean trash from within and around the Watts Branch Stream. Our efforts will eliminate trash from entering the Anacostia River.
While registration for our site is full, folks are encouraged to sign up and volunteer at one of the 30 other participating sites. Feel free to do so via this link: https://www.anacostiaws.org/earthday2016/
Immediately after volunteering, join us and the rest of the event’s volunteers at RFK Stadium’s Lot 7 for free food, music and more! We’ll be there from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
